Great Stroke: Clark Gets 5 Hits
Friday, October 2nd, 1981: History in the making. That's what the fans at Metropolitan Stadium got to see today, when Texas outplayed the Twins 12-3. Jack Clark of the Rangers came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against Minnesota.

In the postgame press conference the Minnesota skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink."

J. Clark hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

To date, Clark has collected 128 hits for a .243 average. He has posted 15 home runs, scored 67 runs and driven in 72 runs.
