 | Thursday, January 1st, 2009: Baseball America Top 100 Prospects List Published The season is about to start, so it's time for Baseball America to publish the annual Top 100 Prospects list. This year 22-year old catcher Matt Wieters of the Toronto Blue Jays is the #1 prospect overall.

The Top Minor League Systems Report has been updated as well. |  | Thursday, January 1st, 2009: Blanco Enters MLB Hall of Fame Andres Blanco's dream finally came true today, as the talented and gifted shortstop was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.
"I really don't know what to say," he said to the large crowd attending his ceremony. "It's such an incredible honor. I always dreamed that this day would come, but now that it's finally here... Someone pinch me, so I know I'm not dreaming!"
Over the course of his 78-game career, Blanco was a .252 hitter with 57 hits, including no home runs. He drove in 19 runs and also scored 24 times as well. Blanco retired at 24. | |
